Please note - NEBOSH Health and Safety Management for Construction (UK) (NCC) is a new qualification which replaces the NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety.
The qualification is made up of one unit (NC), which is broken down into the following:
1. The foundations of construction health and safety management
2. Improving health and safety culture and assessing risk
3. Managing change and procedures
6. Mobile plant and vehicles
7. Working at height
8. Musculoskeletal health and load handling
9. Work equipment
12. Chemical and biological agents
13. Physical and psychological health
The NEBOSH Tutor will provide support in relation to the course content and assessments. Administrative support will also be provided by other Hunter Safety employees. Both can be contacted by telephone or email. Learners can also opt in to join a Whatsapp group for their course, to share questions and ideas with their fellow learners. We will aim to respond where possible by the next working day for all queries.
The assessment is an open book examination (OBE), which will be based on a realistic scenario, that will test both what you know and what you can do. You will be asked to carry out a series of tasks using evidence from the scenario and the underpinning knowledge gained through your studies and revision. You will have 48 hours to download, complete and submit your assessment.
Your assessment will be marked by an external examiner appointed by NEBOSH. These examiners are chosen for their experience and expertise to ensure that learners are assessed by the very best from our industry.
Results are issued 10 weeks after the assessment date.
The NC has one unit assessment (OBE) which a ‘Pass’ (45%) must be achieved in this unit in order to be awarded the qualification.
The qualification certificate is despatched by NEBOSH within 20 working days of the result notification date.
Resitting an Examination
If you have received a fail or referral in a NEBOSH unit exam, you can either:
Appealing your result
If you feel your result doesn’t match your reasonable expectations, you can appeal to get your unit remarked by submitting an Enquiries About Results (EAR) form within 20 days of the result being issued. Be prepared that this could also result in you being issued a lower mark than the original.
Resitting your NEBOSH Certificate exam
You can resit a failed unit providing you do so within 5 years of your first successful unit being issued. If you haven’t yet passed a unit, the 5-year time frame won’t apply until you have successfully achieved a unit.
The fee to resit the NC examination is £180 + VAT.

There are no entry requirements for this qualification, however it is important that learners have a suitable standard of English language in order to understand and articulate the concepts contained in the syllabus.
NEBOSH recommends that learners undertaking this qualification should reach a minimum standard of English equivalent to an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 6.0 or higher in IELTS tests.

Important note: NEBOSH Health and Safety Management for Construction (UK) is a standalone qualification. This means that you will not be able to use units from other NEBOSH qualifications against any part of this qualification.
When you start the course, we enrol you as a student with NEBOSH. Your initial enrolment period lasts for 5 years. This means that you must pass your unit within 5 years. If you fail to pass your unit within 5 years, you will need to re-enrol and pay another registration fee
Prior to starting a NEBOSH course with us, you will be asked to read and sign the learner agreement.
Professional body recognition
Holders of the NEBOSH Health and Safety Management for Construction (UK and International) are entitled to associate Membership (AIIRSM) of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM).
Holders of the NEBOSH Health & Safety Management for Construction (UK) qualification are also eligible to apply for the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) Academically Qualified Person (AQP) card.
Maintaining professional standards
NEBOSH Health and Safety Management for Construction (UK) has been accredited and credit rated by the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) Accreditation. It sits in the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) at SCQF Level 6 with 12 SCQF credit points.
SCQF Level 6 is comparable to RQF/CQFW Level 3 in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
