NEBOSH HSE Certificate in Health and Safety Leadership Excellence

The NEBOSH HSE Certificate in Health and Safety Leadership Excellence has been designed to help you become a better influencer of health and safety in your business.

This explores how health and safety will affect business decisions and how the behaviour of senior members of staff can impact the health and safety culture of a business.

Fees

£280 plus VAT per person.

This includes course delivery, workbooks, refreshments (classroom based courses only), NEBOSH exam fee and certification on successful completion. There are no additional hidden costs.

Qualification Structure

The Certificate in Health and Safety Leadership Excellence is made up of one unit: Unit HSL1: Health and safety leadership. Unit HSL1 is further divided into three elements.

1. The foundations of health and safety leadership
2. Human failure and decision making
3. Leadership

Tutor Support

The NEBOSH Tutor will provide support in relation to the course content and assessments. Administrative support will also be provided by other Hunter Safety employees. Both can be contacted by telephone or email. We will aim to respond where possible by the next working day for all queries.

Assessment Structure

Unit HSL1 is a taught unit, assessed by an on the day assessment which includes a leadership intervention that the student is planning to undertake.

The assessments will be marked by the accredited course provider and maybe moderated by NEBOSH.

Examination Results

You will receive your results within 24 working days of sitting the examination. Once you have achieved a pass a qualification parchment will be issued. This is normally within 20 working days of the confirmation of the successful unit.

Resitting an Examination

If you have received a fail or referral in a NEBOSH unit exam, you can either:

• Resit the exam, or
• Appeal to NEBOSH about your result

Appealing your result

If you feel your result doesn’t match your reasonable expectations, you can appeal to get your unit remarked by submitting an Enquiries About Results (EAR) form within 20 days of the result being issued. Be prepared that this could also result in you being issued a lower mark than the original.

Resitting your NEBOSH Certificate exam

A candidate can re-sit if a 'Refer' result is received. There is no limit on the number of times a candidate can re-sit the unit. Candidates must register and pay the current fee by the registration closing date.

Resit Fees

The fee to resit the NC examination is £80 + VAT.

Language/Entry requirements

There are no entry requirements for this qualification, however it is important that learners have a suitable standard of English language in order to understand and articulate the concepts contained in the syllabus.

NEBOSH recommends that learners undertaking this qualification should reach a minimum standard of English equivalent to an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 6.0 or higher in IELTS tests.

Learning Agreement

Prior to starting a NEBOSH course with us, you will be asked to read and sign the learner agreement. 

Qualification Level & Professional Recognition

The NEBOSH HSE Certificate in Health and Safety Leadership Excellence is not currently accredited by the SQA, however it is intended to be broadly comparable to Level 6 in the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF), comparable to RQF/CQFW Level 3 in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
