NEBOSH National General Certificate (full time)

The National General Certificate is the most widely-held health and safety qualification in the UK. It’s suitable for managers, supervisors and staff from all types of organisations who need a broad understanding of health and safety issues. The certificate helps them manage risks effectively, providing a valuable overview and a sound basis for further professional study.

Three sections are covered:

Unit NGC1: Management of Health and Safety

Unit GC2: Controlling Workplace Hazards

Unit GC3: Practical application of health and safety

Every Friday.

  • Understand the HASAWA 1974
  • Understand the legal framework for the regulation of health and safety including sources and types of law

  • Understand how to Influence behaviour to create a positive health and safety culture throughout an organisation
  • How to undertake risk assessments and accident investigations and recommend suitable action
  • Understand how to undertake a health and safety audit
  • Understand hazards and risk control
  • Understand transport hazards and risk control
  • Understand musculoskeletal hazards and risk control
  • Understand work equipment hazards and risk control
  • Understand electrical safety
  • Understand fire safety
  • Understand chemical and biological hazards and risk control
  • Understand physical and psychological hazards and risk control
