Hunter Safety Solutions has provided essential health and safety management in order to complete a major upgrade to a key production line at the Coca-Cola European Partners Wakefield, their biggest manufacturing site in Great Britain.
This project involved the installation of new ‘end of line’ handling operations including pack conveyors, palletiser and wrapper, with the aim of increasing productivity and reliability.
This new line means Coca-Cola European partners can increase the number of units being produced, as well as giving greater flexibility when packing products. It also takes a step forward in their sustainability plan, by reducing the need for plastic casing.
Appointed as Principal Contractor, the team were responsible for safe site management for the duration of this mechanical and electrical installation scheme. They also ensured the client was discharging their duties under the CDM regulations 2015, assessed and monitored contractor competencies, carried out staff inductions across multiple nationalities, maintained site boundaries and managed Covid controls throughout.
This is the second step in a three-stage project which will see further improvements made to the production line. Hunter Safety Solutions are delighted to be continuing forward on this scheme.
