Hunter Consultancy Services were appointed as Principal Designer for this project, which involved upgrading the chilling defrost capacity, to reduce the timescale required for defrosting the chiller coils. The chiller coils, situation in a spiral chiller were replaced with a new design.
This complex project required the outer wall of the ammonia chiller to be removed at a height of 20 metres, to allow the new chiller pack (weighing in at 7 tonnes), to be installed within the current structure.
The team assisted Quorn Foods Ltd in discharging their duties under CDM regulations 2015. This involved the co-ordination of all pre-construction health and safety matters, including project restrictions and standards.
The team were responsible for identifying all requirements for design and pre-construction, as well as managing and maintaining the project design risk register. The project also included surveys, strategy planning and report collation, as well as reviewing all risk assessments, and ensuring partnership working between teams.
